Patty Jenkins Closes Historic Deal to Direct ‘Wonder Woman’ Sequel

Patty Jenkins has finalized a deal to direct the sequel to Wonder Woman, making her the highest-paid female director in the film industry.

Variety, citing unknown sources, reports that Jenkins will receive an approximate sum of $8 million and will receive further payback from the upcoming film’s box office grossing.

Wonder Woman made a total box office earning of $813 million worldwide, easily making it one of this year’s most successful movies. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the DC superhero film received high praise from critics due it’s theme of female empowerment, pressuring Hollywood into making more female-led action films.
